🎙️ Voice Capture & Transcription FAQ
FastNote uses your microphone to record voice memos and the on-device Apple Speech framework / Whisper CoreML to convert your voice into text. Audio is processed directly on your device's Apple Neural Engine and is never uploaded to remote servers.
Yes, 100%. FastNote runs speech recognition, natural language date extraction, and checklist generation completely offline directly on your hardware.
When you speak or type phrases like "Remind me at 3 PM today", "Wake me up in 20 minutes", or "Product sync tomorrow morning", FastNote's built-in Temporal NLU automatically schedules an interactive alert at the intended time.
💳 FastNote Pro & In-App Purchases
Open FastNote → Tap the Gear icon (Settings) or open the Pro Paywall → Tap "Restore Purchases". FastNote will automatically query Apple's StoreKit 2 servers and restore your active entitlement immediately without any extra charge.
All subscriptions are managed directly by Apple. To cancel or change your plan:
1. Open your iPhone or iPad Settings app.
2. Tap your Apple ID profile (Name) at the top.
3. Tap Subscriptions.
4. Select FastNote and tap Cancel Subscription.
New users are eligible for a 7-day free trial on the FastNote Pro Annual plan. You can cancel at any time up to 24 hours before the trial ends without being charged.
🛡️ Data Privacy, Backup & Storage
All your notes, checklists, and audio recordings are saved locally inside FastNote's sandboxed SwiftData storage on your physical device. We do not have any database or cloud servers storing your personal data.
You can delete individual notes by swiping left on any note card. To reset everything, navigate to Settings → "Delete All Data", or simply delete the FastNote app from your device.
